Discover how Sunrise Designhive transformed a 2BHK at Brigade Utopia with a modern apartment interior design, creating a calm and functional home .
Mr & Mrs Sashinath Saha’s 2BHK Furnished Flat at Brigade Utopia
Ritu, a professional at TATA Steel, and her husband, Sashinath Saha, who works at TCS, live a life full of deadlines, meetings, and long hours in the bustling city of Bangalore. Their professions are demanding, requiring them to be sharp and focused all day. Because of this, they needed their home to be more than just a place to sleep. They wanted a calm, quiet place at Brigade Utopia to disconnect from their work lives and simply be themselves.
They had a clear vision for their 2BHK apartment: it had to feel modern and simple, with every part of the home serving a purpose. At Sunrise Designhive, our job was to make that happen. We focused on making their home practical, easy to live in, and peaceful to look at. We believe that good design should support your life, not complicate it.
The Living Area: Your Personal Lounge
The living room is a good size at 13 ft x 12 ft, and we designed it to be the main relaxation spot in the home. Our goal was to create a space that felt warm and welcoming, which is why we chose a color palette of Off-white and Teak wood. This combination gives the room a sophisticated look without feeling cold or overly formal.
We added a crockery unit where they can easily store and display their dinnerware. And to make a good first impression, we included a foyer unit right by the entrance. It’s a small detail that helps the whole space feel tidy and put-together from the moment they or their guests step inside.
The Custom Media Unit

We built this custom unit to hold the TV and other items. We used a warm wooden finish with white panels on the back. This makes the space look modern and clean. It has closed cabinets at the bottom to hide things like wires and gadgets. There’s also a tall glass cabinet on the side to show off special items. Every part of this unit was made to be simple and useful.
A Smart Kitchen
The kitchen is a U-shaped space measuring 13.3 ft x 7.3 ft. Ritu and Sashinath wanted a kitchen that was highly efficient but still looked great. We went with a striking Ice Blue color for the cabinets. This isn’t a color you see often, but it gives the kitchen a fresh and vibrant energy that’s still very calm and easy on the eyes.
For the storage, we focused on making everything easy to reach. That’s why we installed Tandem boxes, which are pull-out drawers that bring all your pots, pans, and cooking equipment right to you. This is a small design choice that makes a huge difference in how the kitchen feels and works every day. We also made sure the chimney pipe was hidden inside a custom cabinet. These little details matter because they prevent visual clutter and keep the kitchen looking clean and streamlined.
The Bedrooms
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom, measuring 14.6 ft x 12.3 ft, was designed to be a true retreat. The colors were chosen to feel serene. The standout piece is the large 7.5 ft x 7 ft wardrobe. We used a mix of Milky White and Teak wood for the wardrobe’s doors. The white gives it a light, open feel, while the teak wood adds a touch of warmth. The wardrobe goes all the way up to the ceiling, giving them maximum space for clothes and belongings without making the room feel small.
Kids’ Bedroom
The kids’ bedroom is 12 ft x 10.5 ft. Even here, our focus was on smart storage and a clean design. The large 6 ft x 7 ft wardrobe, also in Milky White and Teak wood, provides more than enough room for clothes and toys. We designed the layout to give the kids plenty of space to play and study. The idea was to create a room that can easily grow and adapt as the kids get older, without needing a full redesign.
The Little Details that Matter
Beyond the main rooms, we paid close attention to the smaller details that complete a home. The Pooja Unit is a great example. It’s a separate space, measuring 3 ft x 5 ft, designed with a simple Wood and White combination. This creates a beautiful and quiet corner for their daily prayers. This shows how you can blend traditional elements gracefully into a modern home.
We also made sure that every cupboard and cabinet was fitted with high-quality Peglar profile shutters, known for their durability and smooth finish. This isn’t something you notice right away, but it’s a detail that makes a home feel high-quality every single day.
Our Partnership and a Dream Made Real
This project at Brigade Utopia was a great example of a true partnership. Ritu and Sashinath had a clear vision, and we were able to bring our expertise to turn their ideas into a reality. We were proud to deliver a home that not only looks stunning but also functions perfectly for their busy lives.
Our mission at Sunrise Designhive is simple: to create homes that are as unique as the people who live in them. If you’re inspired by what we did for this family and are ready to start your own design journey, we’re here to help.
